Welcome!

I’m glad you’re here. I’m Emily Mills - writer, editor, musician, photographer, producer, roller derby athlete and announcer, and general gadabout based in Madison, Wisconsin.

Currently, I work for a conservation non-profit as a communications and marketing manager. Sometimes I get to go for hikes as part of my job! It’s pretty incredible. Please note, however, that the opinions expressed in this newsletter are mine alone and do not necessarily reflect the opinions or policy of my employer. This is just me.

Grist From the Mills will publish every other week (I reserve the right to change that at any time) and will most likely contain one short opinion column, plus music recommendations, article recommendations, and the odd fun fact I learn on the job—with a Wisconsin/Upper Midwest focus and basing, but not limited exclusively by geography. I am always open to constructive feedback and questions, suggestions, or other relevant stuff you have on your mind! Reach me at gristfromthemills@gmail.com.
